I really don't know where to begin, such has been the progress of our club during the past 2008/09 season. Neither do I intend to wax lyrical about the best website in the League, our well established ’Score’ Lottery that will provide financial stability for the club, or even a Commercial Department that has strengthened our capacity to generate income, all of which have been introduced by the Club during the last year.

All I ask is that you take the time to read and consider the contents of these webpages and, hopefully, you will be in a position to respond positively.

However, my message is not all about what we did last year, but more about what we intend to do next year. We have improved the club infrastructure and, yes, there have been the inevitable changes to personnel as the Club grows, but my ambitions, and the ambitions of the committee, are as one:

1. To provide Garstang with a genuine ‘Town Team’ playing at the highest level possible.
2. To improve our football facilities providing for both adults and youth in the Garstang area.
3. To create a structure that allows youngsters from the age of six to play their football, all the way through to senior level, under the umbrella of Garstang Football Club.

To achieve our objectives it was important to connect with the youth. We have gone a long way to achieving this by taking Garstang Juniors back under our wing and we are delighted to have formed an association with Cockerham Juniors, who will continue to operate in their own right and under their own name until their players reach the under 16 age group, when they will have the opportunity to move up to the Garstang Youth Team.

But our ambitions will never materialise without the support of the businesses in the local community. And it can work both ways as I firmly believe that a successful Town Team can bring people, and much needed free publicity, to the area.

On a more personal note: I have been a Season Ticket Holder at Liverpool FC for a number of years but, having got the bug for Garstang FC, there is only one place I want to be on Saturday afternoons! Let’s hope we can capture your imagination as well, and that we get the opportunity to meet you in the near future.
